Remembering Those Lost July 10, 2017 KC-130 Crash Tribute

Thirteen children lost a father in this crash. We have funded twelve scholarships and  a new baby (yet to be born) will be funded in 2018.

2018 Year-End Note

As we think about this past year, we are constantly reminded of the incredible generosity of our supporters and the amazing work of our volunteers. Together you allow us to continue our most  important work of supporting those families of Marines and Federal Law Enforcement Officers.

In 2018, we held Galas in New York City, Atlantic City and Philadelphia; a dinner in Dallas (attended by more than 200 supporters), Golf Outings in Scottsdale, Atlantic City, central and south Jersey, New Haven, Long Island and Las Vegas and  fielded teams in both the Marine Corps and New York City Marathons. The funds raised during these events together with our donor’s contributions help support our mission of “Educating the Children of Those Who Sacrificed All”.

To put that into perspective, this year we will have helped 129 recipients, 75 of whom will have received $30,000 Educational Accounts.  We have also helped 13 Federal Law Enforcement families disbursing over $137,000 in Humanitarian Aid. Finally, we have disbursed over $73,000 in Medical Assistance primarily in the form of DocBand Helmets for the young children of our Marines.   For 2018, we have given over $2.6 million to the children and families of Marines and Federal Law Enforcement Officers.

Since our founding in 1995, we have helped 4,056 recipients and disbursed over $75.7 million in aid. We couldn’t have achieved this success without your support. During this Holiday Season we would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude for your efforts and generosity and wish you all a healthy and Happy New Year.

There are several occasions throughout the year where friends of MC-LEF have told us about a specific case or situation where, after due diligence and approval, we have decided to render help in the form of scholarships, humanitarian aid or medical assistance. This assistance may take the form of supporting veteran initiatives or providing financial aid for uncovered costs as a result of catastrophic injury or illness suffered by Marines or law enforcement officers.
